We are at the 3rd day of my journey. I stayed overnight in Noordoewer. I camped at Felix Mite river camp, in which I joined a group who were going to do some canoeing on the River. The day after, I rode in direction of Rosh Oienaar then I turned right to Ai Ais, going along excellent smooth dirt roads 10m wide. Unfortunately, when I arrived to Ai Ais, it is being broken down to make place for a new complex. Beautiful surroundings. Lush Green. On way to Fish River Canyon I had my first fall in sand. Then a second and five times I stuck in sand and had to dig myself out. On one of the falls my rugzak fell onto exhaust and burnt holes in rugzak, sleeping bag and carry bag. Also, destroyed my scissors, memory stick with all my email addresses, and the plastic on my knife melted away. And so I didn’t see Fish River Canyon, just too tired. I camped near by. I slept very badly. Tension I guess.
Early in the morning I took the road to Grunau. When I arrived there, I changed the wheels and checked bike.
I fell 100m from tar road, when I tried to get out of corrugations and moved to side of the road, I didn’t realize that there was deep sand. That was the hardest fall and then you know why you have to wear a helmet and protective gear. Luckily, I had only a slight graze on the skin.
On to Keetmanshoop. I left half a day. I stayed over in a B&B La Rochelle.
Had puncture fixed (Quality Tyres did it for free).
I should have been in Marienthal and have an easy next day to go to Windhoek. Instead, a long 500km gruelling ride to Windhoek.
Staying over in Camelion Backpackers. Great crowed of all age, here.
After having rugzak patched, sleeping bag sealed and fixed number plate back onto my Vespa, since it came off in one or my sand trap mishaps, I’m free to see some sites and do shopping for food. Sitting here for two days.
A long ride from Windhoek to Grootfontein. A good ride with some rain, between Otjiwarongo and Otavi. I went through a beautiful valley, on the road to Grootfontein.
On to Grootfontein, I stayed over with two very nice people as their guest. I had dinner and breakfast with them. They gave me good advice on Moscito avoidance.
A long haul from Grootfontein to Divundu on the Kavango River that feeds to Okavango Delta, a big river. After another long haul, I arrived in Zambia. I crossed the Zambezi river on a new modern bridge. On the way I met a German on a bicycle, at the petrol station, and 100km later I met another German on a bicycle who was going from Germany to Cape Town.

Finally I arrived in Zambia. The entrance into Zambia was expensive: 30rand for carbon emission tax, 245rand (20,08 euros) for 3rd Party and another amount for council tax! Zambia is too expensive!
The last 200km from Sesheke to Livingstone. Near Livingstone there are the Victoria Falls, a spectacular view!
I went to see the falls, but I couldn’t see too much since the river was nearly in flood and an enormous spray obscured the view like clouds.
I stayed overnight at the Livingstone Safari Lodge. I was hellishly tired and a African Music, from an illegal night club, prevented me from sleep until midnight. Tomorrow I will spend resting after first servicing the scooter and getting some Zambia money.
